Kuba Kuba is a staple of the Fan District. Manny Mendez’s vision of a neighborhood spot that served both residents as well as students came alive in 1996 and has been going strong since. A grand example of the unique architectural differences that make up Richmond’s most desirable neighborhood, 1601’s turret overlooks Lombardy Park. Formerly housing the Stuart Circle Pharmacy, this iconic building has been and continues to be one of Richmond’s best corners to enjoy friendships new and old. Charlie’s great uncle, father, and Charlie himself have worked behind what is now the bar when it was a soda counter.
